Reognizing Jesus

"O you of little faith, why you doubt?" - Matthew 14:31b

The wind was boisterous and the waves were really high but yet Peter didnt see them at first. He was focused on God. But he started taking the things around him into account. The big waves, the wind, etc. and instantly, down he went.

Why didnt the Lord enable him to alk at the bottom of the waves with the ability to breath under water and still remain dry? Is that too impossible for Him? He would have, yet it could not be done without Peter's continuing recognition of Him as his Lord.

Likewise, I have stepped right out with recognition of God in some things. Then, self-consideration of my own inadequacies as well as wanting to do things on my own strength enters my life and down I go. I was reminded in my Quiet time today that I have no business being concerned about how and where He engineers my circumstances. The things around me, the environment, the people, the feelings are real but when i look at them, i am immediately overwhelmed and even unable to recognise Him just like Peter. Then comes his rebuke, "why did you doubt?".

I should let my actual circumstances by what they may but keep recognizing Jesus, maintaining complete reliance upon Him.

It continues to remind me that if i debate for even one sec after an incident at which God spoke to me, it will be all over. Dun ask, 'i wonder whether he spoke to me?' just be reckless, totally unrestrained and willing to risk everything by casting it all to Him. It is only through reckles abandonment of yourself and your circumstance that you will recognise Him , recognise the freedom His presence brings. only when you risk your all.

Try it.
