Morning thoughts on the bus

After many days of not blogging, here are some random thoughts that have made an appearance in my life:

1. my C.S Lewis books
at staff touchpoint on tue, holly sheldon spoke on failing/falling well as leaders. She quoted from the book 'the horse and the boy' by cs lewis. Wanted to write it out here but I couldn't find the book at home.

So a brief idea about the portion of interest is that there is this boy who wonders what it would be like in the place he was born in. He meets a talking horse and together, they decide to run away back North. so they set off after Arsheesh and the Tarkaan have gone to bed. And so begins one of the more comical scenes in the book - Shasta trying to not only ride this great war horse, but trying to get on him in the first place.

Because he doesnt know how to ride, the horse asks him, "do you know how to fall?" and this got the boy puzzled. Fall? why fall and he got the answer. The answer was this, are you ready to fall and ride, fall and ride?

This analogy was used to bring out this point in our walk with God:
Are we ready to fall well? I think this thought doesn't just pertain to leadership. Fallling is a daily thing that occurs to everyone just that it appears in different forms and ways. like the respond to the boy, r we ready to fall n climb up again, fall and climb up again & again & again? cos "falling WELL prevents you and I from falling AWAY"

2. a funny conversation topicquestion for you:
why do we fart?
why is our fart smelly?

u dun really need to be sci students to guess this so give it a shot everybody. No prizes lah sorry for the correct ans. Medical students cannot participate.

3. the sacred romance by john eldredge
synopsis of the book:
this book invites us to see what God is doing behind the scenes of our lives to woo us to Himself. A glimpse of His wild beauty arouses our desire & puts us on a journey to capture or be captured by God's love.

it says that it is a must- read book for all who long to know God more passionately and personally.
Having read that statement and knowing how powerful a writer john eldredge is aft reading two of his books, wild @ heart & captivated, I began reading it only to find that I didn't enjoy the writing style and hence was extremely difficult for me to obtain the essence of the writer was saying.

i'm sure there are gems in the book but hmm don't seem to have the right tools to excavate them out.
