JB outing
Yesterday was pretty exciting as Alvin, Joy (my sis), Sharon and I went on a day trip to JB! It was Sharon and my maiden trip to JB on public transport. This really shocked alvin and my sis. They were wondering, "where have we been all these while?" Haha. Well, it was a pretty cool experience and I've got some photos to prove it but that will have to come in a few days time.
So anyway, back to the trip. We met at 1pm at Woodlands MRT so that we could catch 950, a SBS service which would bring us through to the other side of immigration. Thought it was a really simple and hassel free procedure. Just have your passport, fill out the white card and you are good to go. It didnt even feel like i was leavin the country (the only reminder was my passport) it was as if I was going to somewhere else in Singapore.
Our plan for the day was to go to City Square for lunch, do some chilling out/shopping etc. This would than be followed by a trip to the hawker centre for a seafood dinner. So off we went, armed with our changed ringgit, ready to conquer the mall. But first we had to refuel ourselves for the day ahead.
Stopped to eat at Pizza Hut (something none of us would do back home) and it was suprisingly good. the new pizza, the cheese fingers is yummy, with three different cheese in the crust. We also shared a small spicy Aribiatta pasta which was absolutely delicious!
with our tummies significantly filled, the ladies begun their journey in City Sq. I was a little tired that day and my intention was to chill out somewhere to read but there were just too many shops around! heh heh so i ended up walking with Sha and joy while alvin went to catch a movie. boy, was sha fruitful! we went to two shoe shops, Factory outlet store and a few clothe shops.
By the time we've convered those, we were a little exhausted and it was time for our next refuel trip. (You must understand, we had one agenda for that day, to eat, eat and eat some more! =) ) so this time we stopped for a much needed come of coffee/ice tea. The gals chit chatted while waiting for the man of the day to turn up (alvin's birthday you see) Really had a good time just talking , bearing our hearts and souls.
Afterward, it was off to meet Pat and the kiddies at the taxistand so that we could make our way to our seafood dinner. we had crab, prawns, crayfish, kangkong, etc all for about 10 plus a person. thought it was pretty worth it. Haha it was a low-carb meal but an extremely oily one.
the downside of traveling to JB is the jam back home. Traffic was a snail's crawl for a good half an hour. when we finally reached the causeway, we all breathed a sigh of relief.
But my journey wasnt over yet, i still had the journey back to the east. But thankfully there was a bus from woodlands to parkway. (bus no. 966) took about 40 mins along the BKE and PIE. Pretty decent i thought. the journey was pleasant enough for me as I listened to my ipod mini the whole way back (ignoring my poor sis beside me) until a pretty huge commotion occured in the seat in front of us. The bus inspector appeared to do a usual routine check. He asked them (two girls) for their bus ticket, they showed it nothing out of the blue. It was after. He told them that they had exceeded the bus fare that they paid already and they had to pay more. she made a big fuss about how he was being unreasonable that she would get off at the next stop. But she didnt understand the poor bus inspector. she kept on shouting at him asking him why he was being so unreasonable refusing to pay even when he took out change for her 10 dollar bill. a passenger, seeing the commotion came up to offer to pay for them and yet she was still heated up (the other girl all this while, was just sitting in between the bus inspector and her gal pal). even from the bus stop that she alighted from, she shouted at the bus inspector, "F***".
My sis and I talked about it and we concluded that there were some issues happening in her life, that's why she reacted that way. maybe she thought the whole world was against her , i dunno but whatever it is, I hope God will bring people to help her and her girlfriend.
Yeap an eventful trip to malaysia.
