It's a story about social issues that families would face, favoritism, children feeling like they have to do things to be heard. I'm sure they have some word for it in sociology or social work for such a topic but not sure what. anyway, if you do like such books, do read it. It's pretty good. one of the best fiction non-christian books i've read so far (but i haven read that many too).
warning: it's really sad so be warned.

babes read her entire series.. its very very very gd.. i have them all...
liked the book, but couldn't help but feel cheated by the ending. seemed a little too contrived and convenient, crafted entirely to shock the reader. but i guess tt's what makes the difference between classic and airport fiction.
hahah what would you have liked the ending to be? It's easy reading, and as much as the ending is a shocker and convenient, it works. =)
How come you have read this book before?
well, something a little bit more realistic and not so meledramatic perhaps! but sigh, what good a story would that make then? well, that's why i'm a molecular biologist, not an english major. erm... read the book cos.. I saw the words AML on the blurb? :P my bioethics lecturer also recommended it lar.. eeks, very nerdy reasons lar, unglam
