This christmas was a little different over at the Lim annual Xmas family gathering, done in a spanish way, we had a Pinata!
what's that you might ask. anyone want to harbour a guess? Is it:
A) A type of Christmas food - meat dish actually that the Spanish have at christmas
B) A container filled with sweets that children can break with sticks
C) A Spanish cocktail that is literally knocks you off your feet with the tequila in it
Your answer?
The answer is: (drumroll please...)
B ! - a container filled with sweets that children can break with sticks. A better description of it would be as follows:
The piñata is a game in which a succession of blindfolded, stick-wielding children try to break a bright candy-and-toy-filled container (generally suspended on a rope from a tree branch or ceiling). It has been used for hundreds of years to celebrate special occasions such as birthdays and Christmas. Spanish colonizers are thought to have brought the piñata to Mexico, then the tradition went on to the Italians. ...
If you got it right, give yourself a tap on the back. Back to my story..
Yeap, we had TWO pinatas yesterday at Ee Ee's place. was great fun seeing people wacking it as they were blindfoled. Old and young participated in it and it was extremely entertaining. Check out videos that i would be posting online.. but for now... here's a photo of my sis with the adult pinata.. =)
