Being the first Sunday back and the first Sunday that i will not be hitching a ride down with the Chews, my day started off at 0815hr. It was nice being able to sleep in till 8-ish and still be able to take a shower, eat breakfast, do a little QT AND still be on time for 9am service at COC (which is a walking distance of 2mins).
It was nice to be back in the congregation of COC, seeing the usual faces, people sitting in their usual spots, the same greeters and the familiarity which i have grown accustomed to. Everything was as per usual till after service ended where I saw the familiar figure of Pastor V sitting nearby. Though without his usual Sunday attire as a clergyman in BMC, Pastor V was still Pastor V.
Before long, Elisa approached us as well and we started chit chatting, exchanging phone numbers and stories re Melbourne's infamous weather and our coping strategies. after awhile, we decided to continue our chitchat over a meal (how typical isnt it), first stopping by my place to have a look and for me to drop off some stuff.
then guess what? while walking along Swanston towards my home, there we met Jeremy (Jansen's brother) who was on his way to the 11am service! Gee... and we thought Melbourne was too large to bump into people like that.
So it was yet another round of exchanging of phone numbers and promises of catching up in the week to come.
many people to meet this coming week, many things to do. I'm excited about them but I need to constantly keep in focus my reason for being here: to be a nurse to learn the skills i need and to go home to work in the Singapore public hospital. Yea.
Anyway, going to be cooking dinner tonight. Menu for two?
1. Marinated Chicken from Vic.Mart
2. Chinese vege
3. Salted vegetable with pork rib soup
Item no. 3 is an experimentation on my part. Haven really done this before so hopefully it turns out well.
