Finishing up my studies in NUS after 3 years in the Clementi campus today was a bitter sweet feeling. It finally sank in when i was in the spotless ladies in the Arts side today that the same time next year, i will no longer be a student.

for weeks, people have been asking me how i feel about graduating, about doing my 1 year STINT, leaving my education life behind, treading onto this new path i am about to take. Honestly guys/gals, i didnt have a single clue cos it just didnt register.

But now, it does. The grass is always greener on the other side and i guess this is one of those times when the times at which i struggle through endless lab reports and labourous hours of slogging through names of genes and gene products trying to remember which one was regulated and inhibited by which promoter and substarte respectively. They all vanished from my mind and the only thing i could think of is how much i would miss this carefree life of a student. every single step after that was filled with nice thoughts of school.

haha. so silly of me.

To a totally different topic altogther. (wanted to blog this for a long time) Have you ever watched the movie iRobot? it stars Will Smith as the lead and its about the future where for every 5 human beings there will be 1 robot. In it, everything seems so "in the future", where it does not exist today. but one little point in the first part of the movie is very real today. There was this background advertisment that the scene showed about this shop sold transgenic "glow fish" NOW that is not a thing of the future but a thing of the present. Transgenic fish for ornamental purposes are present in the market today. You can check them out at the url below:

I made my very own fluorescence transgenic fish once last semester and it was kindda cool but a little funny playing God in this way. check out the website if you are truly bored, and next time pay more attention to little details in the movie. =)
