I'm sure you guys have heard of C.S. Lewis havent you? Well, in his book entitled, " The Four Loves" he writes this:

"... there is no safe investment. To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything and your heart will be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket - safe, dark, motionless, airless - it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable. The alternative to tragedy, or at least to the risk of tragedy, is damnation. "

Have you ever reached that stage of a friendship where you feel like you want it to deepen but yet you are afraid that it is only something you might want and not what your friend wants?

I guess we won't know unless we take that risk to be vulnerable. 'Cos, be vulnerable instead of becoming impenetrable, unbreakable. We were made to have a community of friends for support. Not as loners.
